The practice of asanas, as one of the 8 limbs of yoga given to us in the Yoga Sutras by Patanjali, is the doorway to the realms of higher potential we all ultimately want to explore and assimilate into our lives. The divine spark that is our essence is described as splitting in a cosmic impulse of force into 2 vibrations known in yoga as Shiva (pure consciousness) and Shakti (physical manifestation). This divine spark of life’s impulse that embodies us, longs to return to its source. The yogic road map for this journey can be symbolized by our evolution through the stages represented by the chakras and their corresponding elements. The first step is to set our hearts right. The second is to clean and strengthen the temple of our senses through asana practice.
Neva’s fluid vinyasa style is designed to release deep imbalances by strengthening, revitalizing, and restoring equanimity to the body, mind, and soul. Through challenging sequences building to slow dynamic openings, Neva integrates core strength and mindful breathing to help the student achieve a higher state of physical and spiritual awareness.
Neva Ingalls brings 30 years of experience teaching yoga and dance to this mindful , fluid asana practice. She takes us through a journey in the realm of asana that is unique. Through the doorway of aligning the bones, activating the muscles, enlivening and purifying through breath (pranayama), focus and intention (sam kalpa), one enters a fluid flow of union with pure energy. This pure energy is love, healing, balance, vitality and our one true home. In essence the structure of the universe is one of love, seen as light and color, heard as celestial vibration and music, and felt as passion, hope, and gratitude. Neva sees the yoga of asana, as tuning the instrument of ourselves to play the purest note of our highest potential. And now is the time we are all needed to play our purest note.
