Yoga is an ancient system of health that integrates the health sustaining medical tradition of ayurveda and the knowledge of the rishis to elevate the consciousness of humankind to its highest potential. The yoga therapist will treat each student / patient from a holistic approach, with the intention of returning every layer or kosha to its optimum functioning, from the most physical to the most subtle.These koshas or interweaving systems of the body cannot be seen as layers like an onion, but totally integrated expressions of life. The proper function of one is deeply intertwined with the proper functioning of the other.

 

Applications

Yoga Asana to balance muscle antagonists in strength, flexibility and tone, integrate functional movement habits and establish freedom in the body through neuro- muscular re-patterning and enhanced self-awareness. These result in greater confidence, ease and health in all aspects of life.

Breath Awareness and Enhancement (Pranayama)
Our breath governs the vital energy of the body and every function is nourished by it. The balance of nervous system is directly related to the balance of the breath. By working with specific types of regulated breath and ratios of inhale to exhale, along with cultivation of the actions of the bandhas, or energy locks along the spine, we can deepen the self-awareness necessary to undo chronic tensions on every level and greatly increase energy, vitality and optimism.


Focus and Intention - Meditation
The ship of our bodies can be in optimum condition, but without a captain with courage, inner strength, clarity of vision, connection to Higher Self (the Source or God) and a clear direction, it will flounder and our most precious commodity time, will be wasted. Learn focusing techniques, as well as techniques to access the Higher Self, to fuel your ship with the clarity, faith and optimism needed to travel this journey of life.

Through these focusing techniques, greater Self- Knowledge will be gained, allowing one to perceive subtle habits and patterns that probably originated from past experiential imprinting, that can now be relinquished as ineffective for a happy, life.

Deep heart felt desires which are in alignment with your truest nature can be re-activated and followed to bring fulfillment and contentment.

What to Expect

Neva Ingalls will conduct an initial interview, followed by a practice session determined by her discovery during discussion. She may also utilize pulse reading ( an ancient technique that “listens” to the 12 energy circuitries in the body system for quality of flow), muscle testing that accesses information directly from the body –mind.

In the course of yoga therapy, the methods described above will be employed, as well as nutritional, herbal and supplement guidance, mutually ascertained goal setting and hands on energy re-alignment called Jin Shin Jyutsu.
